Hanen® Parent Training Programs – Coming Soon in 2026

First Expressions Speech-Language Pathology Services is proud to announce the launch of two evidence-based parent training programs beginning in 2026:

  • It Takes Two to Talk®

    • For parents of young children with language delays

  • More Than Words®

    • For parents of young children with autism or social communication challenges

We believe that the greatest progress happens when caregivers feel empowered, confident, and supported. These Hanen-certified programs give parents the tools they need to help their child communicate and connect in meaningful ways throughout daily routines and play.

Why Hanen Programs?

  • Hanen’s internationally recognized approach is built on one powerful idea:
Parents and caregivers are their child’s most important partners in learning.
  • Through small-group coaching, personalized feedback, hands-on practice, and supportive discussion, families learn how to incorporate research-backed strategies into natural, everyday moments—mealtimes, bedtime routines, bath time, play, and beyond.

Program Delivery Options

Beginning in 2026, First Expressions will conveniently offer virtual programs:

  • Delivered via a secure online teletherapy platform, allowing families from anywhere in California to participate.
  • Sessions are led by Hanen-certified speech-language pathologists and combine:
    • Live teaching and group instruction

    • Video-based learning and guided modeling

    • Small-group practice

    • Supportive coaching and feedback

    • Observation and reflection to track family progress
