LOUD for LIFE®Parkinson’s Voice Maintenance Group

Keep Your Voice Strong. Stay Connected. Be Heard.

You worked hard in your LSVT LOUD® program – now it’s time to maintain the progress.

LOUD for LIFE® is a long‑term maintenance program designed specifically for individuals with Parkinson’s disease who have completed the LSVT LOUD® treatment protocol and want to preserve and strengthen their communication skills in a supportive group setting.

At First Expressions Speech‑Language Pathology Services, our sessions are led by certified clinicians trained in evidence‑based Parkinson’s treatment approaches and focused on real‑world communication success.

Who This Program Is For

This program is appropriate for individuals who:

    • Have completed LSVT LOUD® therapy
    • Have Parkinson’s disease or Parkinsonian disorders
    • Want to maintain loudness and speech clarity
    • Notice their voice becoming softer again over time
    • Want accountability and structure for home practice
    • Value community and peer support

What Makes LOUD for LIFE® Different

This is not a lecture or general support group.

Each session is structured and therapeutic, focusing on carryover of loud voice into real communication contexts.

Participants will:

    • Practice calibrated loud voice daily tasks
    • Work on speech clarity and intelligibility
    • Engage in conversational carryover activities
    • Strengthen respiratory‑phonatory coordination
    • Maintain gains from LSVT LOUD®
    • Build confidence speaking in social settings

Benefits You Can Expect

Participants commonly report improvements in:

    • Being heard by family members
    • Speaking in noisy environments
    • Phone conversations
    • Community participation
    • Reduced communication frustration
    • Increased confidence

Research consistently shows maintenance therapy significantly improves long‑term communication outcomes in Parkinson’s disease.

Session Structure

Each group session includes:

    • Daily maximum sustained phonation practice
    • Functional phrase practice
    • Reading and structured speech tasks
    • Conversational carryover activities
    • Real‑world speaking challenges
    • Home practice planning

Schedule & Format

    • Small Group Format: Clinician‑led sessions to ensure individualized feedback
    • Frequency: Weekly
    • Location: Via secured Video-Conferencing (e.g., Zoom or Google Meets)
    • Duration: Ongoing maintenance program (participants may join at any time after LSVT LOUD® completion)

Why Ongoing Maintenance Matters

Parkinson’s disease is progressive, meaning communication changes can gradually return without continued calibration practice. LOUD for LIFE® provides the structured repetition necessary to maintain neural activation and speech intensity.

Think of this as physical therapy for your voice – consistency prevents decline.
